Les Feldick, God's Teacher

 Meet Les Feldick

I discovered Les Feldick in one of my click-throughs of my multi-channeled cable box.  I saw this elderly man dressed in casual, short-sleeved shirt with an old fashioned chalk board behind him.  I wondered, who is this guy and what is he doing.  His audience was filled with adults, mostly elderly.  I listened a while.  Later I returned and found him again.  I was in Colorado for a business trip and found him there.  Wow!  This teacher gets around.  I get up early to watch Les's program at 6:30 over our local cable channel.  It's great way to start your day.  You can probably find his program on your cable.  Check out his website for a complete listing of the TV & radio stations.

I have been drawn to Les Feldick's teaching like a steel marble to a magnet.  His mission seems to be to impart the Word of God in its completeness.  He does not attempt to make you a church member though he has no problem with the church.  He does not hound you for money, but clearly makes a casual reference that his program is supported by those who watch and believe in his teaching.  He doesn't have a book-a-week to sell you.  He simply makes his teaching tapes and CDs available so you can review what he teaches.  His prices for the material is just enough to cover costs.  He doesn't even ask you to send money first.  He will gladly bill you for your order.  The man and his methods are unique to television.

He makes no apology for using the older King James Version of the Bible.  I attended one of his meetings in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  I noticed he was using an old Scofield Reference Bible (a good one).  I mentioned the Bible and he said an interesting thing.  "I use the King James Version because it was produced from copies of the same manuscripts that were discovered in caves at the Dead Sea.  There they recovered the Book of Isaiah and it reads (when translated) almost exactly like Isaiah in this KJV Bible."  And that is one of the big reasons he sticks with the KJV.

Some of his positions may differ a little from others who believe almost like Les, but that doesn't bother him, nor does he take great exception to their differing.  He feels that he has it pretty much right and so he teaches as he understands the Book and lets the chips fall where they will.  I like that, too!  Les does not pick fights with other teachers, or ministers.  He holds up his Bible and his understanding of what it says and boldly proclaims that to his classes.  He simply believes that God is the ultimate author of the Scriptures and if you have a problem with what He says then you should take it up with God.  You will hear subjects that may seem new to you, but Les is quick to say they are not new to the Book.  He backs up every thing he teaches with Scripture.  In fact, lots of time is used up on the air as he encourages you to find the very spot in your Bible.  He wants you to see it for yourself.

He will often talk about leading some person to the Lord around his kitchen table.  This man loves God and believes the Bible and enjoys teaching.  He is not a preacher.  Les is married to Iris and she can be seen in his Bible classes usually holding the Bible that the camera zooms in on to show the verse under discussion.  She is a wonderful Christian help meet for Les.  The following info was taken from his web site at www.lesfeldick.org.  I have provided a link to his web site under my BLOG ROLL.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." - II Timothy, Chapter 2, Verse 15

Les Feldick is an Oklahoma rancher and has enjoyed that lifestyle for many years.

Les and his wife, Iris, have been married since 1953. They have three grown children and eight grandchildren.

What Les really likes is teaching the Bible. He has been teaching home-style Bible classes for over 30 years. His teaching is non-denominational, and his students come from diverse denominations and backgrounds. It was through one of these classes that a student helped open the door for his "Through the Bible" television program.

Les has never had any formal Bible training. It is through the Holy Spirit that he is able to teach night after night, never using lesson plans or notes, and seemingly, never growing tired. Les teaches in four different cities on a regular basis.

Les starts his classes in Genesis 1:1 and works all the way through the Bible. All the Scriptures quoted are referenced from the King James Version. Les comments that "Once a class has been 'Through the Bible' with me, we generally start over and do it again."

Les Feldick Ministries offers 6-hour video tapes of his television class (12 programs each), as well as DVD's, transcribed books, audio cassette tape sets, and CD's of the programs. See the
